Manchester City will finish their preparations for the new campaign with a pre-season friendly against Premier League rivals Chelsea. In the last match, City lost to Barcelona on penalties as the match ended in a 2-2 scoreline. It is difficult to read too much into Man City’s pre-season as several key players are still missing due to international commitments.
But it has not quite been the results or the performances that Pep Guardiola would have been looking for. The Cityzens will try their best to win their last friendly match to get some confidence for sure.
Chelsea got some mixed results in the pre-season so far. They played a 2-2 draw against Wrexham, lost to Celtic by 4-1 and defeated Club America by 3-0. Enzo Maresca’s side are in the transition phase as the Blues will look to perform better in the upcoming season.
