Manchester City begin their pre-season campaign with a tie against Scottish powerhouse Celtic. The Hoops are one of the teams who have not lost against them. With their season starting with the FA Community Shield clash against rivals Manchester United, Pep Guardiola will be aiming to make the most of these fixtures.
They will be facing some of the best sides in this friendly which includes AC Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea. With the Euro and Copa America participating players still out, he will likely give a much-needed chance to the academy players.
Celtic have started their preparation for the upcoming season in brilliant fashion. The Hoops started the campaign against Ayr United in a 1-1 draw. They followed it up with a ten-goal thriller against Queen’s Park where they won the tie with a score-line of 6-4.
In the last match, however, Brendan Rodgers’ side put in their best performance to secure a 4-0 victory over MLS side DC United. With their season starting on 4th August against Kilmarnock, it is a brilliant chance for them to test themselves against the best.
