Arsenal had an amazing Premier League season but once again they fell short in the title race. Manchester City took home the title, leaving the Gunners in the second position for a straight second season.
Anyhow, Mikel Arteta has been doing wonders at the North London club since his appointment. Last season in the league, they had the best defensive record. Arsenal conceded only 29 goals in 38 league fixtures. City, who hold the second spot in this category, conceded 34 themselves.
Arteta’s team were also involved in the UEFA Champions League. They exited the knockouts in the quarter-final stage against Bayern Munich. Recently at the Dignity Health Sports Park, Arsenal came out on top via penalties after a 1-1 draw against Andoni Iraola-led Bournemouth.
Manchester United will be their next opponent in the US. United had a great game against Rangers last time out. The 2-0 win included one of the signings’ debuts as well. Leny Yoro is expected to be out on the field once again when his team clashes with Arsenal.
The Red Devils are undergoing major changes under INEOS. They have already signed two world-class players, and looking for more in the transfer market. In the wholesale changes at the club, Erik ten Hag managed to keep his spot.
The Ten Hag-led United did earn a title at the end of the 2023-24 season. They finished the last season with an FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City, the noisy neighbours.
