Azzurri had defeated La Roja on spot kicks to reach the Euro 2020 final.
Spain and Italy will play in another thrilling match in which a win might guarantee a spot in the knockout stages of Euro 2024.
With victories in their first games, both teams had the ideal start to their campaigns in Germany. One more victory would guarantee a place in the round of 16. In the “Group of Death”, Spain demonstrated their superiority over Croatia by winning decisively with three goals in the first half, virtually sealing the match in under forty-five minutes.
It was more difficult for Italy, who fell behind Albania after only 23 seconds but overcame that terrible start to win three vital points in what should have been their simplest group encounter.
In their tremendously convincing victory over Croatia, La Roja displayed a merciless attacking edge that was been lacking in recent competitions. With players like Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal providing a serious danger out wide, they have a good chance of winning against Italy.
The Azzurri will not encounter a wall of defenders as they did against Albania, who made them work for their chances and made it difficult for them to score.
Spain will face yet another true test, but they can pass it and go to the Euro 2024 round of 16.
