Nationalelf have won double the number of games than the Scots.
Euro 2024’s hosts Germany will play Scotland on Friday to kick open the competition and their campaign. Julian Nagelsmann’s team are the clear favourites to win three points in this game.
Nationalelf, who have won their past four games are eager to do well in a big tournament after losing out in the groups at the last two World Cup campaigns, 2018 and 2022 and getting eliminated from Euro 2020 at the Round of 16.
Scotland will consider qualifying out of Group A a great achievement. They did go undefeated in seven of their last eight Euro 2024 qualifiers, including a thrilling victory against Spain.
With the entire world watching, the pressure will be on the host nation’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann. Nagelsmann’s team do have superior quality of players to face Scotland, thus it’s difficult to predict anything other than a German victory in the opening match of Euro 2024.
On Friday, Steve Clarke’s team will be trying to maintain pressure by either counter-attacking Germany or generating opportunities with set-pieces, but they may be in for a difficult evening.
The Tartan Army will play their 10th-ever game at the Euros finals under the brilliant lights of the Allianz Arena. But, their goals are considerably more modest than the tournament hosts, who hope to resurrect the glory of the 1972, 1980 and 1996 European Championship triumphs.
